About the Airbrush Courses
Daniel Power has been helping people learn how to airbrush in some capacity for over 10 years. The Power Studios airbrushing classes have been running for around 8 years, with fun, easy to follow airbrush courses that are jam packed with content!
With 3 different levels of airbrush instruction as well as specialised Auto Airbrush classes, Power studios can take you from absolute beginner through to the most specialised techniques with ease.
We have had students fly into Melbourne from all corners of Australia for Daniel's classes. Some flying in for airbrush courses several times from all over Queensland, Western Australia, Sydney N.S.W and Adelaide S.A for multiple levels and classes. We have also had numerous international students travelling from as far as Signapore, Spain, New Zealand and Ireland.
All Melbourne airbrush classes are run from a professional airbrush studio with instruction directly from Daniel Power. All courses have been designed by Daniel specifically to give you the control and expertise that he has gained from almost 20 years of full time airbrush experience.
Daniel is also now teaching internationally with classes in Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom (UK) and Canada.

The Level 1, 4 day airbrush courses are an airbrushing workshop designed by world renowned airbrush artist Daniel Power.
Daniel has specifically designed each 4 day airbrush course to teach and develop the skills most required, and for that matter, requested in airbrushing.
The 4 day airbrush classes are 4 days in a row. This is done because when learning a fine skill like airbrushing, you need consecutive time to build momentum and muscle memory. Also, almost all our 4 day classes run fom a Thurday through to a Sunday. This is to minimize the amount of time people may need to take off work.

'Daniel Power's Fundamentals' is a series of exercises that, when practised, give the freedom to airbrush practically anything!

* Advanced Control Exercises
We kick off with some advanced control exercises to gear up for some of the more advanced practical exercises ahead.

* You will learn how to use colour in your artworks
You will take your work to the next level with airbrush colour theory
|
* Munsell Colour Theory
Learn the Munsell colour theory and about the 3 dimensions of colour. This is instrumental when it comes to how to mix colours accurately.

* Colour Matching
Learn not just about colour theory but we cover practical colour mixing as well as the ever important technique of colour matching!

* Layering Studies & Hair Textures
You will cover 3 different hair studies that are an exercise in layering, sequencing and incorporating additional artistic tools. The 3 panels teach you 9 different principles, including other implements and different paint types. More than just "how to do hair"

* You will continue to learn the use of freehand stencils and templates
Bringing a more advanced level to your airbrushing we continue the study and incorporation of freehand templates with more complex integration for for advanced and controlled effects

* Secondary Implements
You will learn to create new and exciting textures and effects with secondary implements and tools, incorporating them seamlessly into the airbrushing to create a higher quality overall effect.

* Using Opaques, Semi opaques and transparents.
Taking what you've learned from the Power series Level 1 airbrush course we put these principals into practice in full colour as well as showing how to make a completely capped opaque into a semi-opaque (translucent).

* Advanced Transfer methods
Techniques with specialised art products as well as some very clever tricks when cutting your own custom stencils will help you with transfer methods of all sizes.
|

* Multiple Airbrush Experience
This level 3 airbrush workshop will see you working with not only the Eclipse series like previous workshops, but will have you airbrushing with specialised airbrushes like Iwata's Hi-Line and Custom Micron!
|
|
* Scale Studies
We will teach you how to create the SAME artwork in 3 different sizes. This will allow you to learn the different techniques used to render different sized artworks. Skills vital when needing to move from a motorcycle tank to a large bonnet! By doing the same artwork you can see the differences in detail, scale and techniques. WHAT to put in at what size and HOW to do so. Many airbrush art techniques to be learned here
This scale exercise is completed over the first 2 days of the class

* Major Project
This is an advanced portrait (partial) study of a very textured, weathered face. It will take a mixture of our complete arsenal to date, including all the new techniques of level 3 to create these skin textures, wrinkles, pores and other details such as super textured eyebrows, moustache, stubble and more.
This major project takes the second 2 days of the class to complete

This class is designed for a basic level airbrush artist or competent spray painter to be able to enter the world of Kustom Automotive airbrush effects.
By teaching you about special finish products as well as some very simple but effective airbrushing tricks and techniques, you can start offering more to your airbrush clients or in the case of a panel shop, open up a whole new market.
Special Finish Products you will use and learn about include:

This course will take you through the foundations and principles needed to airbrush true fire realistic airbrushed flames. full "Anatomy of an Airbrushed Flame" session
as Daniel runs through fundamentals of shapes, strokes and layers to create convincing, glowing and believable flames. Learn what to do and what NOT to do! A fun, easy-to-follow class that will teach you how to create airbrushed flames like a pro!

Does Power Studios teach Night Courses?
We do not teach night classes for airbrush art for numerous reasons. Taking a 4 day course and spreading it over 12-16 weeks for 2-3 hours a night loses you valuable time for pack up and set up every single week as opposed to just once at the start and once at the end. Combine this with travel time every week, plus trying to learn a new skill at the end of a days work when the mind is tired, as well as requiring the same night available for so many consecutive weeks is not a successful way to teach or learn airbrushing. Here at Power studios, we would not feel comfortable charging for such an unproductive, stunted way of learning.
After almost a decade of teaching we have made it easy for you.
4 Days, one time to arrange, minimal trips, maximum retention, maximum results and a full set of notes; Easy!
